Job Description
- Design and implement month end, process compliance, forecasting and budgeting processes and reporting
- Contribute to the financial processes surrounding the new finance IT system
- Writing standard reports from the new finance system
- Studying for professional exams preferable
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience of finance systems, preferably Sage, and an advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience of database reporting tools an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in communicating with a wide range of people.
- Strong aptitude for business process improvement
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to take initiative in problem solving.
- Good planning and organising skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- month end accrual and prepayment calculations and other nominal ledger journals
- balance sheet reconciliations and monitoring
- reviewing the accounts for errors
- preparing additional supporting analysis to feed into the monthly management reporting pack
- Checking and reconciling internal cost transfers between areas of the business.
- Working to minimise the need for month end journals by ensuring that processes are operating effectively.
Liaise regularly with managers to ensure they are fully aware of the financial performance of their area compared to budget and forecast.
Prepare additional supporting analysis necessary for the production of statutory accounts.
Provide reports that allow monitoring of project profitability compared to project budget and prior year and review in liaison with Engineering Managers.
Prepare reports to monitor compliance with processes using key process efficiency measures.
Investigate issues and provide solutions.
