Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the leading Building Society's as an assistant manager. They are looking for somebody that has a proven record in a targeted environment and the ability to lead and coach. A financial background (preferably in banking) is desired but not essential. Please find the job details below:

Purpose of the Job:
·         To support the Branch Manager by conducting mortgage interviews, and provide supervision, training and coaching to the team.
·         To ensure sufficient leads are generated in respect of regulated sales and lending, including unsecured lending, also to sell traditional non-regulated investment products and general insurance in line with personal objectives and Delivering Excellence.
·         Achieve Society's Customer Service standards in all areas.
·         Ensure effective administration in all areas and full compliance with Society audit requirements.
·         To deputise in the absence of the Branch Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         Deal effectively with initial mortgage enquiries up to and including mortgage interviewing.
·         Supervising and monitoring the performance of colleagues.
·         Providing coaching and feedback to colleagues.
·         Assisting the Branch Manager in developing the business performance of the branch.
·         Achieving personal targets by generating sufficient quality referrals for mortgage, investment and regulated products.
·         Ensure personal sales of mortgage, investment and insurance products are in line with targets set.
·         Ensure there is a high level of customer service at all times by providing an efficient and accurate counter service to all customers.
·         Ensure that all customers who could be suitable to receive financial advice, or requesting information on regulated products and mortgages, are referred to the relevant experienced or authorised staff using Delivering Excellence.  Make appointments where necessary.
·         Ensure that the administration for mortgage applications and investments and other general branch administration is completed in line with Society's Customer Service standards.
·         Ensure branch audit security and cash management requirements are adhered to.
·         To carry out any other tasks or duties as required and instructed by your line manager from time to time.

Requirements
·         Educated to ‘A' level standard or equivalent.
·         Previous sales experience, preferably in financial services.
·        Requires a proven ability to supervise and coach other people.
