Job Description
European Commodities house seeking exceptional commodities quantitative analyst.
My client is a market leader in the European power and gas industry, and is looking for an experienced quant to help grow the team in London. You will be charged with writing and implementing mathematical models and developing programs for use by the trading team. The successful candidate will be working in a front office role and answering directly to the head of Commodities trading and quantitative analysis. This role represents a fantastic career opportunity as commodity house experience is now highly sought after with many of the top global Quants moving to smaller boutique firms. My client pays highly competitive salary packages with very attractive bonus schemes and looks to develop candidates in to team leaders within one year.
The successful candidate may adhere to the following criteria:
A PhD or MSc Equivalent academic background in a highly quantitative subject.
1-4 years experience in the European Power and Gas market
Exceptional mathematical credentials e.g. Brownian Motion, Stochastic Calculus, Ito Calculus, Martingales, PDE’s and ODE’s
Strong programming skills in C++/ C and Java
Motivation to lead a team of juniors within the commodities quantitative space.
