Job Description
Our client has an outstanding record focused on direct equity investments, primarily in the MENA region. In line with recent expansion, an opportunity has arisen in Dubai for a highly experienced deal lawyer with a background in private equity/investment banking/M&A.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the CEO, CIO and CSO and play a key role in advising on the establishment and management of the firm's private equity funds
- Advise on the legal implications of the firm's wide-ranging transactions in a number of exciting emerging markets
- Assist in evaluating potential deals, supporting the investment team where possible in developing strategy, examining business and legal issues, exploring potential local partnerships, and developing a business plan and private placement memorandum
- Work closely with the investment team in overseeing the investment process, conducting due diligence, structuring and negotiating investment terms, and liaising with the Investment Committee
Qualifications/Experience
- A qualified lawyer with a minimum of 10 years' PQE
- Demonstrable experience in the emerging markets, preferably with a MENA focus
- Extensive private equity/direct investment deal experience
- Strong commercial awareness and effective financial management and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and relationship/project management ability
- An outstanding record of academic achievement, including an MBA or master's degree from a recognised international university
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years' work experience in private equity/direct investments with a fund, bank, law firm or corporate entity, with emphasis on the emerging markets and specific focus on the MENA region
- Fluency in English is essential, and Arabic and/or other languages a plus
Compensation will include an international-standard base salary and annual bonus together with a full benefits package consistent with the firm's policies, including health care cover, life insurance, paid vacation and relocation expenses.
