MANAGING DIRECTOR – MAURITIUS

This leading wealth management organisation requires a managing director for its office in Mauritius to take responsibility for the growth of its business and to establish a business strategy that will allow the company to attract and develop HNW clientele.

The ideal applicant will have proven success within business development and management coupled with international experience and vision. A challenging, yet highly rewarding opportunity is awaiting a seasoned and dedicated professional.

Description of role and key responsibilities:

~ Take overall responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the trust company as well as the growth in fee income and profit of the company trust
~ Contribute towards the development and implementation of the goals and targets of the company trust
~ Ensure that the company maintains well-trained, experienced and motivated staff and provide leadership, coaching and guidance to staff members while ensuring that effective measurement of staff performance and development proposals are implemented
~ Provide support to client-facing staff in their relationships with existing and prospective clients and oversee the design, marketing and delivery of professional services to clients in line with policies, practices and strategy laid down by the company
~ Remain well informed concerning changes in legislation and the financial environment and act as the principal point of contact with local regulatory authorities and both internal and external auditors while ensuring compliance with the company trust risk and compliance policies and procedures
~ Undertake all duties of a director of the company and represent the company in meetings with clients, intermediaries and other third parties

Core skills and knowledge:

~ A minimum of 15 years' relevant experience
~ A qualified lawyer, accountant or trust professional
~ Highly developed interpersonal and client relationship skills
~ Sound knowledge of fiduciary structures and functions, investment products and principles, accounting, commercial law and asset management principles and practices
~ Strong leadership, communication and motivational skills
~ Cultural awareness and sensitivity on both an individual and corporate basis
