Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide high quality investment support for the Clients and Consultants of the company and to manage the Firm's Advisory Portfolio Service
Key Accountabilities
Technical Support:
Construction of investment portfolios, production of Buy Notes and fund reason why paragraphs for the Advisory Portfolio Service (APS).
Managing and reviewing the APS service including checking of valuations, rebalancing of portfolios.
Accompanied visits with Directors for High Net Worth Client base.
Dealing with Client's telephone enquiries.
Research and technical assessment of cases submitted by Consultants and Directors
Production of compliant and technically accurate Suitability letters and Reports within reasonable timescales.
Research for Client solutions to guide Consultants.
Research and comment on investment markets and investment funds and products.
Assisting the Consultants to answer Client queries and provide a solution to their Fund research including production of Buy and Sell notes.
Liaison with Compliance Department with technical queries.
Dealing with complex cases and problem solving
Research:
Acting as Author of Suitability letters which will be peer reviewed by the Consultant.
Able to peer review if required.
Fund research including production of Buy and Sell notes.
Monthly briefings for the Consultants to assist with ongoing investment advice.
Liaison with their Guildford Office regarding the best advice panel.
Ensure keep up to date with legislation changes and brief Consultants accordingly.
Utilise the Internet, Insurance Company links and seminars to ensure aware of current products and ideas on the market place and to communicate these to the Staff of the company.
Assist with Consultant training needs when required.
Draft new technical wordings and ensure existing wordings are current and remain compliance.
Keep up to date with compliance changes and system changes.
Project work as and when required.
Staff Development:
Assisting with ongoing training of Administration Staff.
Providing the expert guidance on our Advisory portfolio to ensure the processes are efficient.
Train and develop technical staff and ability to check work as required.
Assisting with Development of new Staff and new Consultants.
Personal Development:
Higher level professional qualifications, in particular the Diploma Investment Units or the Investment management Certificate.
Holder should be aiming to obtain Chartered Financial Planner status.
Role can develop into an authorised position over time.
General:
Helping with management of workflow and ensuring backlogs are minimised.
Deputising for manager of the section.
Other reasonable duties as requested
Skills & Experience
Must have relevant Industry experience in a high level technical role, preferably within an IFA environment.
Excellent knowledge of investment business.
Ability to construct and manage Investment Portfolios.
Previous paraplanning experience an advantage.
Wide knowledge of technical areas, pensions / investments / retirement planning.
Benefits
Holiday entitlement is 23 days with the option to buy up to three day's extra holiday per year.
Authorised overtime is payable at time and a half.
