Job Description
Based in the City of London, our client, a leading insurance broker, seeks a qualified accountant to join them as Chief Accountant. This job is reporting into the Financial Director and will require someone with extensive experience within the insurance industry.
Job responsibilities:
- Candidate needs to be able to lead and direct the Company's UK financial operations to achieve short and long term objectives
- Optimise the effective use of personnel, technological resources and other business assets
- Establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities and activities to subordinate staff as required. Ensure staff are adequately trained to competently fulfil their duties
- Assist in the development of the Company's Finance policies, strategies, budget, standards and practises
- Lead and manage the implementation and maintenance of Finance policies, strategies, budget, standards and practises in relation to the Company's UK operations
- Assist and support the Finance Director in reviewing Finance structure and implementing agreed change initiatives
- Propose and implement change as appropriate. Manage the preparation and monitoring of the Central Management budgets
- Authorise Company and Finance Function expenditure and expenses
- Establish and maintain effective internal and external business relationships
- Manage Company financial administrative activities and procedures for UK operations to protect Company profits
