Job Description
My client, a global insurer, is currently seeking Area Sales Manager to manage the sales performance of up to 18 Account Executives and sales co-ordinators to deliver / exceed business plan objectives.
Responsibilities
- Drive the sales activity throughout the region by maximizing the impact of Account Executives
- Develop sales skills through 1-2-1 coaching in the field and at the desk providing constructive feedback and following up on all action points Coaching of BM's to develop wider sales management skills to support a more structured approach to managing sales activity
- Operate as a regional resource and support regional management team to drive tactical sales initiatives to deliver business plan requirements
- Operate as part of a national sales team, raising our sales professionalism, identifying and sharing best practice
- Contribute to and drive successful implementation of distribution strategies through AE's and sales co-ordinators across the region
- Undertake, develop and deliver on Distribution & Marketing projects as required by the Sales & Distribution Manager, eg New Product Launches.
- Direct line responsibility for up to 18 Account Executives and Sales Co-ordinators across various within the region.
Skills - Technical
- ACII &/or degree qualified Expert knowledge and understanding of the UK Commercial insurance market (min 5 Years)
- Proven track record in Sales Management Ability to interpret data, produce reports with recommendations for action Sound understanding of the intermediary market & current trends
Skills - Behavioural
- Strong general administrative skills and ability to organise high work volumes efficiently and effectively with minimum direction
- People management capabilities, driving performance through staff development and objective performance management
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to provide advice, coaching and guidance Decisive, confident and articulate team player with excellent communication skills
