Job Description

The Role:



- Undertakes analysis of broker and scheme performance and discuss with Senior Management.

- Negotiates fleets and schemes with brokers

- Liaises with brokers as necessary and assists in obtaining and developing profitable business.

- Considers and underwrites new business proposals, raises queries with brokers, considers terms and premiums for renewal business.  Processes MTAs as appropriate

- Provides technical input to wordings as necessary

- Offers advice and guidance to other staff as necessary

- Provides support to Senior Management as required

- Ensure compliance with requirements of FSA and MID or any other regulatory body. NATURE AND SCOPE:



- Consistently provides underwriting advice and guidance to Fleet and Special Risks Department.

- Actively undertakes analysis of broker and scheme performance

- Negotiates major fleets and schemes with brokers effectively to develop profitable business

- Produces comprehensive monthly business reports

- Continuously updates knowledge and understanding of legislation for regulatory bodies

- Maintains good broker relationships

- Proactively provides technical input to wordings as required

- Liaises with Senior Management concerning Fleet and Special Risks business

- Communicates and listens effectively with colleagues and clients of all levels

- Demonstrates strong time management skills in prioritising daily work

- Consistently shows awareness of departmental work needs and deadlines

- Effectively manages projects as required by Senior Management

- Works effectively under pressure in a demanding environment

- Demonstrates flexible approach to changing priorities

- Contributes to team meetings and works with others to achieve team goals

- Perform any duties as reasonably required, according to the needs of the Syndicate.

Skills/Experience:



- Good knowledge of motor underwriting and experience across a broad range of all motor classes.

- Working knowledge of Fleet, Commercial Motor and Specialist Motor policy endorsements and schemes.

- Ability to use Excel, Word and email software

- Preferably ACII qualified or progressing towards qualification.

- New Business role very client facing and externally biased
