Job Description
Role Purpose (Summary)
To undertake all tasks of an engineering nature relevant to that of the appointed claims
operating branch, reporting directly to the Senior Staff Engineer
General Description
Investigate and provide valuations in order for the Claims team to resolve all types of claims in a technically excellent manner ensuring they are settled at optimum costs.
Vet motor repair estimates to confirm Legitimacy and assess cost implications
Provide total loss valuations and contribute to the total loss valuation dispute resolutions to enable accurate collation of claims information
Provide valuation for all stolen, unrecovered, vehicle claims to deliver accurate information on claims costs
Validate and confirm the technical competence of outside specialists Including Service Providers to ensure the service provided continues to meet business requirements
Answer any technical queries and contribute a technical viewpoint as and when required to support identification of issues and opportunities within area of expertise
Respond to client requests in accordance with service standards to deliver an efficient and effective customer service
Provide information to Underwriters and Management when requested to inform and support effective decision making
Work with Claims team to develop and implement initiatives to support delivery of the team's objectives.
Essential Requirements
Have broad experience of working in claims
Proven motor vehicle or truck mechanical skills/experience or satisfactory demonstration of relevant abilities.
Relevant Engineering Qualifications
Continuing Awareness of Bodyshop Industry, Salvage Industry and Industry Initiatives (Including Thatcham)
Strong Investigative skills
Excellent communication skills
Effective presentation skills
Relationship Management Skills
Able to produce Ml and reports at various levels
