Job Description
This role is a 50-50 split between reporting and loading data to the warehouse. The real selling point is this role covers all aspects of Datawarehousing from ETL to reporting - full end to end process.
Commercial Lines Data Warehouse is forecast to reduce Loss Ratios by 1% per annum through better information. To drive this through Data Warehouse Analysts are required to transform data from the source system and to develop reports.
Responsibilities:
Analyse data and reporting requirements. Analyse and identify data sources which can be used to meet those requirements.
Design data models to reflect requirements.
Specify extraction and transformation logic.
Use recommended tools to feed data into the Data Warehouse.
Use recommended reporting tools to provide reporting interface.
Support and train business users where appropriate.
Tune warehouse on an on-going basis.
Produce appropriate documentation to the required standard.
Requirements:
Understanding of Commercial Lines insurance, IS2000, Data Warehouse Analysis & Design Techniques, including Dimensional Modelling.
Knowledge of current technology in use; AS/400, SQL, MicroStrategy, TM1, MS-Office, ErWin.
A high level of literacy, numeracy and computer literacy is required.
Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
