Job Description
We are looking for a Legal Claims Support Assistant to join a Legal
Services Team situated in central Bristol. The Legal Services Team handles and monitors all claims that are madeunder the `Family Legal Protection' element of a customer's household Insurance Policy. In your role as a Legal Claims Support Assistant you will focus on:
Providing efficient administrative support to the Legal Expenses
Department, performing all `front end' functions of a claims, which
include;
Preparing trial 'bundles' for Litigator/Cost Specialist court cases,
ensuring all correspondence is in order.
Dealing with any general correspondence from customers and solicitors,
prior to a case being allocated to any individual.
Inputting and checking payments made to solicitors and other parties.
Personally dealing with a small caseload of non-complex external
solicitors' files, ensuring they are managed within appropriate
standards.
Overseeing the work of Legal Claims Support Assistants.
Assisting claims team members in the performance of their duties.
Be aware of and comply on an ongoing basis with the rules, requirements
and principles of the Financial Services Authority, (FSA) and any other
legal/regulatory/risk management framework
Skills & Experience Required:
Office clerical background
Numerate and literate. Must have English and Math's GCSE (or equivalent)
grade C+
Basic keyboard skills
Good organisational skills
Experience of writing business letters
Ability to communicate appropriately in a professional environment
Ability to influence people
Insurance experience an advantage but is not essential
