Job Description
The Opportunity
Working with the Director of Interactive Design, the Lead Interactive Designer oversees the design and development of all conceptual and aesthetic graphics and. This includes driving the design vision and overseeing the design life cycle for all digital products and EBasel programs assigned. The Lead Interactive Designer will work with both in-house teams and interactive design and development partner companies to realise design visions.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide creative/art design and direction for all programs assigned at all stages of development, concept, design, development and release
• Own all visual problem solving, creative solution development, UI design, layout & composition, typography, visual integration, including managing in-house styles for all programs assigned
• Work with program cross-functional teams to provide creative visual solutions to meet instructional design requirements of interactive product vision
• Understand the educational requirements of new programs and translate them visually into creative, interactive solutions
• Design all interactive elements, including, for example, immersive learning environments, games based scenarios
• Work closely with project managers, instructional designers, engineers, and QA in developing design templates and delivering highly interactive, engaging digital learning products for 21 century learners
• Work respectfully within the parameters of stylized brands
• Coordinate outsource design companies to ensure that design integrity is maintained consistently, and ensure that outsource designers comply with design requirements
• Oversee production and train outsource design companies as needed
• Create high level mock-ups to communicate design requirements
• Review and approve all graphics to a professional standard of finish and performance and measure outsource partners based on predefined standards, protocols and procedures
• Deliver quality work within scheduled timeframes
Skills and Experience:
Essential
• BA in one of the art disciplines: Animation, Multimedia Design, Interactive Design
• Capacity to work well with other creative people: to embrace and work with other ideas
• Solid drawing skills and imaginative approach
• Proficient in Flash and Photoshop may be required to learn other applications swiftly
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of schedules and risk mitigation
• Ability to delegate and ensure quality of deliveries
• Experience producing design work for the life cycle of a multimedia product: from concept to final art delivery
• Strong innovative critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Detail and process-oriented
• Work well under pressure
