Job Description
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Flash Engineer with strong ActionScript knowledge and good design skills. Flash development projects will be Web-based online interactive programs, short Flash animations, presentations, and other dynamic Flash content which are integrated with a database or LMS for the capture of user responses. We are looking for someone with strong development skills and good creative talent. Ideally the candidate will have experience of managing out of house development teams while also working on internal projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
o Implement and design Flash interactivities and templates to meet requirements
o Ability to write and develop Flash ActionScript to create visual interfaces that communicate with web services
o Troubleshoot existing Flash product issues and develop solutions
o Structuring Flash content to enable efficient re-use, customisation and localization
o Develop user, functional and business specifications
o Work with Project Managers to engage and manage outside technical development partners
o Facilitate stakeholder and other resources to ensure goals and objectives of the project are met.
o Work with an interdisciplinary team that includes project managers, engineering, graphic designers, marketing and executive leadership
o Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies
Skills and Experience:
Essential
o At least 5+ years as an Interactive Flash Developer
o Thorough experience with dynamic, interactive content in Macromedia/Adobe Flash
o Expert knowledge of Actionscript 1.0 and 2.0
o Excellent debugging skills
o Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English essential
o HTML, JavaScript, XML, Flex, Air
o Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Multimedia/Web Design, or comparable industry experience
o SQL experience would be a plus
o Photoshop/InDesign would be a plus
Highly Desirable
o Strong design/aesthetic sensibilities
o Experience in developing interactive learning and gaming products would be a plus
o Ability to work under short deadlines
o Must be able to work in a team of Flash developers (both internal and external) on multiple projects simultaneously
o Action Script 3.0 would be a plus
