As a Business Intelligence Analyst / BI Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our client’s leading edge business information applications, which allow them to make informed operational and strategic decisions. This will involve modelling, coding and developing data for the Finance team.
In this key position you will join their Cognos BI team that’s responsible for the technical development and support of a new Data Warehouse system, built using the Cognos 8 toolset and Oracle 9i.Your duties will include:
- developing technical specifications to address business requirements and produce efficient processes
- producing test plans/scripts in order to verify the correct functioning of the Cognos system
- responding to 2nd level support calls and delivering solutions regarding the Data Warehouse
- supporting other team members including QA Analysts and Project Managers
To succeed as the Business Intelligence Analyst / BI Developer you must have the following:
- hands-on experience of Cognos 8 development
- experience of supporting Oracle 9i based on Windows or Linux
- experience of SQL Server
It is also essential that you are of graduate calibre, ideally with an IT qualification, however our client will also consider experienced candidates with a strong finance or statistics background.
Additionally, for this role you will be required to champion improvements, react to changing priorities whilst staying focused on goals, and have a sense of urgency when dealing with issues. This position also requires your ability to deal with a wide range of people, your sense of urgency dealing with issues, and your drive and determination.
