Job Description
As a lead Java Developer you will join a leading team of architects where you will become responsible for developing a flagship real-time Internet trading system. You will:
• drive the design and construction of innovative technology solutions and take ownership for the technical integrity of the solution
• be working within the FX, Foreign Exchange team
• identify and address architectural challenges and enhance the current product range
• contribute throughout the development lifecycle; from conceptualizing through to implementing ideas
• be working in a high paced atmosphere with Traders in the Front Office
• must have a hunger and a desire to progress within the financial sector
The ideal profile for this position will:
• Have a Bachelors or Masters background within Computer Science or Engineering
• Be an architect who continually strives to create software of the highest possible quality in regards to performance, reliability and maintainability
• Have a strong quantitative background; have a mathematical aptitude
• Be prepared to go the extra mile,
• Be hungry to succeed
• Have extensive design experience within any sector and the ability to evaluate design alternatives
• Be self managing, responsible and willing to take leadership – you will also be willing to contribute at a broader level than your immediate task
Your technical background will be:
• Skilled JAVA developer with between 1-2 years experience
• Be familiar with SWING, Spring Frameworks and MULTI-THREAD applications
• Have a broad programming background outside of just JAVA, such as C, C#, C++, PYTHON
• Practical experience of the Standard Template Library (STL)
