Job Description
IT Systems Administrator London City
£35k - £39k plus benefits
Reporting to the Business Process Manager you will manage the IT systems within the London Office and remote locations. As well as local responsibility you will be involved in group projects where you will probably gain more experience and additional technical skills.
Your key responsibilities will be Infrastructure, System Development and Local Support; this will involve but not limited to:
·Perform basic system administration duties i.e. set up new users, check back up logs, check disk space etc.
·Implement changes to the IT systems i.e. hardware/software upgrades
·Implement new systems i.e. document management system
·Manage HSRS (IT recovery facility for business continuity management)
·Work out of hours when required i.e. some evenings and weekend work will be necessary
System Development (Local)
·Create reports using SQL and reporting tools available within the main IT application
·Make simple changes to the main IT application
·Build simple databases i.e. in MS Access to supplement the functionality of the main IT system
Support (Local)
·Act as first line support on infrastructure, telephone support and simple application problems
·Report problems which cannot be solved locally to third party suppliers and manage the resolution
Group IT
·Participate in/manage Group IT initiatives, where required
As the successful individual you will have clear/precise communication and have strong analytical skills. You will be organised with the ability to multi-task and have the ability to work on own initiative.
Your demonstrable experience within information technology and your knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server products will certainly put you in good stead for this role. It will be extremely advantageous if you have experience in SQL, however, full training will be provided.
The current IT Manager has a very definite hands off management approach, is certainly supportive and has extremely good experience to teach you everything you need to know; however, she has no wish to be a techie but certainly needs one.
