Is a long established and highly reputable Stockbroking firm based in several locations throughout the UK and the City of London who advise on substantial client funds.  Their high quality discretionary and advisory portfolio management services provide our clients with direct access to an investment manager, who will identify solutions to suit their individual financial needs – clients include private individuals, companies, charities, trustees, solicitors and other intermediary firms. 

The role  

The role envisages providing analysis on Hedge Funds, Funds of Hedge Funds, Structured Products, Private Equity Funds and Alternative classes (eg Commodities, Agriculture etc). The time split between asset classes is very much determined by the analyst.   From time to time market / economic conditions will favour one asset class over another.  As new products/funds come on the market they will ask the analyst to meet the providers to assess the product or fund and provide a view as to the merits of the offering.  On-going research into funds on our "recommended list" to be carried out on a regular basis or as circumstances dictate (e.g. C shares issuance).  Developing of new ideas/funds/themes is an important aspect of the role.   

The candidate 

Educated to Degree level, preferably in Mathematics / Economics and ideally CFA qualified or part qualified and studying for full CFA chartered status. The successful candidate will determine his/her own working practice and be an innovative thinker participating in and stimulating discussion about investment prospects of various asset classes and investment strategies.A familiarity with PerTrack and Alternative Hedge software as would a proficiency in Excel Macro writing along with Strong presentational skills
