Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a multi-billion award winning Hedge Fund. Our client follows a multi-strategy approach and due to continued growth this opportunity has presented itself for one to be part of this fast growing fund and to gain exposure to a wide range of products. Their current need is for an experienced Fund Accountant to join their finance team. The role will report to the CFO and the responsibilities will cover all aspects of fund accounting, working with both internal teams and external Administrator’s. The successful candidate must have a “can-do” attitude, be flexible and adaptable and will have good attention to detail while being able to operate semi-autonomously.
The Role
- Daily and weekly reconciliation of portfolio against administrator records
- Daily liaison with administrator staff to provide seamless connectivity
- Preparation of weekly fund performance estimates
- Preparation of monthly fund valuations with fund administrators
- Preparation of regular and ad hoc management reporting on all aspects of fund financials
- Calculation and reconciliation of investment management and performance fees
- Input of subscriptions and redemptions and reconciliation of related cash balances
- Liaison with investment strategy team on new assets, strategies and products
- Assisting with the preparation and review of fund financial statements.
The Candidate
- Ideally a Part Qualified Accountant or someone intent on studying in this area
- Good level of understanding of fund accounting and NAV calculation
- Experience in determining fund valuations, including derivative positions
- Excellent Excel skills
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Confident and effective communicator at all levels
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to meet and adhere to deadlines
- Prioritisation and time-management skills in order to work semi-autonomously.
