Job Description

Founded over 20 years ago, this privately owned Investment Manager provides highly personalised investment management services to individuals, trusts, charities, private offices and various types of pension schemes through a range of different investment approaches including: defensive, income generative, balanced, growth and opportunistic that combine cash, bonds, equity, property funds, private equity, structured products and hedge funds globally.

For the majority of their clients, the Investment Managers provide discretionary management and where appropriate advisory and execution-only services – combining the roles of Research, Portfolio Management and Relationship Management. In addition, they regard excellent client service as an essential part of their business restricting the number of client relationships per investment manager to approximately one third of the industry average.

Some Managers and Brokers talk of their clients in the thousands managing billions they talk of hundreds managing millions.  They remain operationally independent, and can buy or sell any investment when they choose, seeking to preserve and increase the value of their clients’ portfolios within agreed risk parameters and suitable timeframes.

They are a privately owned company, totally focused on serving the needs of their clients rather than external shareholders. The directors, management and staff are significant shareholders in the company and are committed to their continuing operational independence.

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Investment Manager into the London office. The ideal candidate will able to demonstrate experience of being either an Investment Manager or Portfolio Manager within a reputable organisation, large or small (a recognised Investment House or Bank).You will need to have developed well within your current role and be keen to take further Industry Qualifications (ie IMC), ideally already holding the full Securities Diploma or the Securities Institute papers 1 & 2 as a minimum. You should be able to think on your feet, work well under pressure, show excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment.
