Job Description

Job purpose:

This is a commercially focussed role in which you will play a key part in enabling the business to achieve its cost targets – cost to income ratio being one of the core KPI’s we deliver to.  

 

With ownership for a dedicated set of cost centres in the Support areas of the business you will provide a Finance Business Partner Service from a cost perspective.  Success will rely on your ability to build effective relationships and to robustly challenge Cost Centre Owners on spending plans, ensuring funds are spent in the right place and at the right time for the business.   

The role also provides exposure to the finance and cost aspects of Six Sigma Process Improvement Projects running across the business and also includes reviewing business cases built by the Change Programme.  As a self generating and proactive individual, you will be expected to use your own judgement and business knowledge of your account areas to identify, propose and drive future cost saving initiatives alongside regular work.

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills at all levels
  • Relevant experience in financial management, with cost exposure and experience of supporting business cases
  • Qualified or finalist CIMA or ACA, or part qualified with suitable cost experience
  • Must be able to quickly add value and gain credibility in this Finance Cost Business Partner role
  • Professional and commercial
  • Pro-active and able to act on own initiative
  • Sound judgement and decision making
  • Computer literate, Excel user with good knowledge of Word & Powerpoint


*Up to c40k basic starting salary plus an array of benefits including:

  • Eligibility for company bonus of between 9% and 27% of basic payable early March 09.
  • 25 days holiday pro rata.
  • 20% staff discount.
