Job Description

Position: UK Management Accountant/Part or Newly Qualified 

Publishing Technology is the largest provider of digital solutions for the publishing industry, and services eight out of the world's ten largest publishers. Its technology uniquely fuses online and offline publishing functions to provide end-to-end support for publishers across their full range of processes and requirements.

The company is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: PTO) and has offices in Europe and North America.

We are looking for a UK Management Accountant to assist the group finance controller to complete the European accounts on time and in full.  The job requires a commercially aware qualified/nearly qualified accountant with a strong motivation to improve systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for UK day to day accounting on Great Plains
  • Preparation of monthly Board reports
  • Helping the Group Finance Controller to Develop and maintain financial controls
  • Provision of information to and liaison with, external auditors and advisors
  • Cash management
  • Revenue recognition
  • People management and development
  • Support the UK board and therefore have a "dotted line" to the European MD
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Various ad hoc financial and commercial projects including contract, transfer and project pricing

Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a pro-active, flexible, team player who is able to work on their own initiative with the ability to meet regular monthly deadlines. You will be confident in manner and able to deal with management at all levels within the company. You will also need to have:

  • Commercial experience
  • Ability to prepare and maintain documentation on systems and processes
  • Budgetary/forecasting experience
  • Ability to understand variances and raise issues with management
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Great Plains software and/or FRX an advantage but not required
