Job Description
THE COMPANY:
My client is the UKs second largest insurance company, with a portfolio that includes some of the best-known brands in the business. They employ over 18,000 people across five countries, with a growing customer base in Spain, Italy and Germany.
Current figures include:
- The UKs largest motor insurer and the second largest home, travel and pet insurer
- £2 million motor policies internationally and are the largest direct insurer in Spain
- £4.3m home insurance policies
- A rapidly growing player in the SME commercial insurance market providing protection
to customers through a network of around 3,000 brokers THE POSITION:
The position will be based in London- City. You will be responsible for managing a team of 5 credit risk analysts.
Key duties:
- Manage Credit Quality and Credit Risk within strategy parameters
- Deliver, develop & maintain a Credit Risk Management governance framework, policy and procedures
- Ensure the credit risk management function is adequately controlled, co-ordinated and supported (across multiple brands).
- Manage interfaces with treasury, risk and control functions within the group, engaging group credit risk and treasury to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Develop and own an annual operational plan and budget to include staff development to ensure finance operations delivers on the credit risk management objectives.
- Constantly improve and develop MI to control the Credit Risk framework
- Develop self in order to maximise personal contribution to the job.
- Be aware of and comply on an ongoing basis with the rules, requirements and principles of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and any other legal/regulatory/risk management framework.
- Develop an environment that supports the management, motivation and development of the team to maximise the achievement of the business, individuals and objectives.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance and audit requirements Experience &
Skills/Knowledge:
- Demonstrable experience of managing credit risk within a financial service operation.
- Understanding of credit and market risk policies and methodologies.
- Proven Credit management knowledge and risk assessment skills.
- Good working knowledge of financial statements with proven management/financial accounting experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and develop trust of senior management.
- Proven track record of successful management experience
- Experience of various credit risk techniques such as developing, building and analysing credit scorecards
- Demonstrable experience of continual awareness of the economic micro and macro economics
SALARY & BENEFITS:
The overall package can be up to £75,000 consisting of:
- Up to £55,000 basic + 21% benefit funding (cash equivalent or benefit purchasing)
- Up to 10% profit share
- Up to 20% discretionary performance bonus Benefits include:
