Job Description
A tier 1 US Investment bank currently seeks experienced product controllers for their Credit Trading Valuation Control team in New York. Products covered include high grade and high yield bonds and loans, CDS, fixed income, credit indices, vanilla and exotic equity products, distressed debt, and various other structured and vanilla products that trade in and outside of the credit markets.
Responsibilities will include:
Analysis of Markets, P&L, & Risk on a daily basis with understanding of the factors that drive the valuation risk
Building/automating a price verification/benchmarking process including the calculation of fair value adjustments
Owning the relationship between the trading desk and valuation group
Provide business advisory on valuation issues related to large concentrations, revenue on new deals/complex transactions
Review and approval of new model releases as it relates to valuation
Enhance existing control framework including reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency
Working with Trading, Middle Office, Finance and Model Review to continually monitor the various valuation risks of the business and implement appropriate adjustments
Suitable candidates must have:
Graduate degree (MBA/MS) preferred
Significant experience with Credit products in Finance/Product Control//Risk-related fields
Extensive knowledge of credit products/markets
Ability to understand complex products, and analyze transaction and process flows
Understanding of valuation concepts as they pertain to financial products/derivatives, some accounting knowledge
Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills. Experience with Visual Basic and automation. Database skills a plus.
