Job Description

Expanding city based European Bank are currently recruiting for a Senior Compliance Manager. My client is experiencing a period of growth despite the current economic climate and offer career progression and new challenges. Making zero redundancies my client has retained all of its staff and has an extremely strong standing in the investment banking market This is a new role created to cover various central Compliance functions. The Senior Compliance Executive will be responsible for the administration of the compliance process including approved persons registration/deregistration and training and competence in conjunction with human resources, regulatory training and development, client categorisation, regulatory reporting, and maintenance of intranet site. You will also coordinate compliance training, preparation for external audits and reviews such as the FSA ARROW visits and various ad hoc projects and manage one person. The successful candidate will have proven experience of FSA registrations and deregistration experience where Legal and HR were involved and experience with FSA client categorisations issues. During the first 6 months the key responsibilities for the role will be administration of APER regime and classification of new clients and also recording of electronic communication, annual affirmation and reviewing of policies and procedures. After 6 months you will progress to another team and will be responsible for compliance training, risk based business reviews and intranet site and awareness program. Strong organisational skills, experience of FSA registration is essential. Candidates should be self starters. The successful candidate will be main point of contact with HR and Legal department and must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be confident dealing with senior people. The ideal candidate will either have management experience or be ready to step up into a managerial position.
