Commodities trading desk at a top tier German Investment Bank are looking to hire 3 commodities sales traders for a new trading desk.

Job Description
To Provide high-quality pricing, execution and order management in Precious & Base Metals to the banks internal and external clients.

To strive to become the centre of excellence for Metals within the bank,
proactively developing the Metals franchise as a ‘business within a business’, within the overall objectives of the Commodities group.

To assist in the development of the trading infrastructure, developing Commodities business as necessary

Develop and utilise liquidity in the Metals markets in order to exploit
profit opportunities by actively leveraging business flows.

Contribute to the development of the banks market profile and
reputation within the Commodities markets, developing and maintaining a network of valuable contacts with counterparties, clients and institutions.

Enhance revenue generation through calculated, short-term speculation
within allocated risk parameters, aiming to meet individual and desk targets.

Keep abreast of significant developments in Metals markets, briefing Commodities & FX colleagues when appropriate.

Support other members of the Commodities team in general day-trading
activities and provide coverage on other Commodity markets if required.

Liaise with Sales desks to ascertain client needs within the Metals markets
and support marketing efforts to deliver high-quality service and value to customers.

Actively contribute to the communication of information flow and
trading ideas, both verbally and through Mindalign, on the Commodities Desk, with Sales desks, between branches and with clients where appropriate. Contribute Metals market summaries to the daily Trader’s Talk report.

Create a strong relationship with all staff members in Liquid
Markets, and all other sales/trading teams within the bank

Qualifications(Skills and Competencies)

1-4 years experience on futures, options, swaps etc.

Proven track record of active, profitable trading in Precious and/or
Base Metals markets.

Sound knowledge of the Metals markets, and an understanding of fundamental &
technical driving forces.

Good interpersonal skills, with the desire to maintain and expand a network of Commodities market contacts in order to make an immediate contribution to business and information flows.

The Ideal candidate will be a bright self-starter, eager to take on the challenges of a rapidly developing business and make an impact on the trading desk combined with a willingness to learn on the job.

Other skills required
English required. Some German would be an advantage (or desire to learn).
