Job Description
My client, a national rail specialist with offices throughout the UK, are currently seeking a highly commercial, operationally focused Financial Controller/Divisional FD. This is a challenging role which requires outstanding communication and people skills at all levels. The role has a functional line manager and two operational MD’s, 4 direct reports and a total team of 21 which are a mixture of finance and commercial staff. Your biggest task is to change the mind set of existing board members, to challenge them on budgets and forecasts to ensure that the finance needs of the business are met. In order to be successful in this role must be able to demonstrate experience in project management, matrix reporting, change management, cost reduction, commercial responsibility for major projects/contracts, and be able to think on your feet. You will be an ambitious, strategic thinker with drive, self motivation and a hunger for success.
