Job Description
Job Profile
It will be the main focus of the successful candidate to drive the sales activity throughout the region. This will be achieved by maximizing the impact of Account Executives, developing sales skills through 1-2-1 coaching in the field and at the desk, providing constructive feedback and following up on all action points, coaching of Business Managers to develop wider sales management skills to support a more structured approach to managing sales activity. Will operate as a regional resource and support the regional management team to drive tactical sales initiatives to deliver business plan requirements as well as operate as part of a national sales team, raising sales professionalism, identifying and sharing best practice. Will contribute to and drive successful implementation of distribution strategies through Account Executives and Sales Co-ordinators across the region, undertake, develop and deliver on Distribution & Marketing projects as required by the Sales & Distribution Manager, e.g. New Product Launches. Will have direct line responsibility for up to 18 Account Executives and Sales Co-ordinators across the region.
Applicant Requirements
It is essential that applicants are ACII &/or degree qualified and possess expert knowledge and understanding of the UK Commercial insurance market. Will have a proven track record in Sales Management, the ability to interpret data, produce reports with recommendations for action and have a sound understanding of the intermediary market & current trends. Strong general administrative skills and the ability to organise high work volumes efficiently and effectively with minimum direction are highly desirable as well as people management capabilities, driving performance through staff development and objective performance management, strong sales and negotiation skills and the ability to provide advice, coaching and guidance. A decisive, confident and articulate team player with excellent communication skills is sought, being a highly results-oriented, inspirational leader, portraying a professional approach.
