Accounts Trainee / Accounting Technician (AAT)
Harrogate, North Yorkshire
£15,000 - £20,000 Plus Study Support Available, 20 Days' Holiday (after 3 years', this will increase on an annual basis up to 30 days)
As a reputable Chartered Accountancy practice, our client offers specialist services to businesses throughout Yorkshire. Their core business is to provide a professional, personal and high value solution to their clients' day-to-day accounting needs. An opportunity has now arisen for an Accounts Trainee / Accounting Technician to join their team.
For this role our client is looking to recruit a candidate who is either in the final stage of their AAT studies, or is newly AAT qualified. For the right person, this position offers study support to assist you with completing your AAT qualification (if required) and to study towards the ACCA qualification.
As an Accounts Trainee / Accounting Technician you will have a varied role that offers the chance to work on a wide range of accountancy duties, within a small and friendly practice.
To succeed in this position you must possess solid practical experience, and you must be newly AAT qualified (or in your final stages of obtaining the AAT qualification). You must also have experience of accounts preparation from incomplete records to Manager/Partner review stage, for a variety of Sole Trades/Partnerships/Limited Companies, using manual and computerised records.
The following is also essential:
- knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts reconciliation
- understanding of Limited Company statutory
- working knowledge of Accounts production software (preferably IRIS or Sage)
- working knowledge of business tax and corporation tax
- understanding of VAT returns
- proficiency using Word and Excel
Additionally, as the Accounts Trainee / Accounting Technician you should have a good level of computer literacy, a willingness to learn and develop, a good attitude, and above all, an eagerness to play a key part in this friendly team.
