Chief Operating Officer £100,000 - £110,000 + bonuses + benefits Our client is one of the UK`s leading providers of pensions, protection, investments and wealth management services. A world leader in insurance and financial services, our client is the leading international organisation with operations in more than 130 countries and jurisdictions. The Chief Operating Officer will be based in Brighton. He/She will be responsible for managing up to 9 direct reports including; Head of Customer Operations, IT Manager, Project Manager, Premises Manager, Finance Manager, Commissions Manager, HR Advisor, Sales Quality Manager and Shared Services such as (Legal, Compliance and Claims) and will have responsibility for representing the Protection Business in UK wide committees. Additional responsibilities include: . Responsible for systems and operations for the UK Protection business . Managing the preparation and analysis of Profit and Loss and Budget Forecast process. . Production of Management Information for both UK and Region. . Managing the control of OPEX (Operational Expenses) . Ensure the business meets all FSA requirements including Risk Management and TCF (Treating the Customer Fairly). . Responsible for the oversight and management of all internal and external audits. . Oversight and management of all projects, such as projects to deliver a web portal and a new administration system etc. . Responsible for BCP (Business Continuity Plans). Candidates will either be a Fully Qualified Actuary/ or Fully Qualified Accountant or equivalent. The ideal candidate will come from either a life insurance company or consultancy background and have an understanding of protection products is preferable. Experience in managing middle and back office functions in small/medium sized companies and a global mindset would be a valuable attribute.
