Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen at this retail bank for a technical accountant to join their team in a 6 month contract that could possibly go permanent.
Your role will be to drive adherence and consistency of accounting policy (IFRS and local GAAP's) through review, support and guidance of the business. Also you will provide effective business partnering on accounting & technical issues, provide valuable technical input in cluster wide transactions & projects to support business growth & efficiencies and be the control point for Group / External Reporting and point of contact for a business cluster on reporting and governance activities.
You will be a CA/ACA qualified accountant (big four firm desirable) with post qualification experience in a financial reporting/advisory capacity ideally in a retail bank or cards related business. Up-to-date technical accounting skills (IFRS) are needed as are strong communications and interpersonal skills, strong accounting knowledge and knowledge of bank accounting policies, governance, procedures and controls and a working knowledge of SAP. Transaction experience e.g. work on acquisition accounting (IFRS3) would be useful. If this sounds like you please apply immediately.
