Job Description
Working for a respected national insurer you will be joining an existing underwriting team. You will be responsible for underwriting new and existing commercial and personal lines business and therefore to be considered you must have experience gained within a technical insurance role. My client has many temporary vacancies for up to 12 months duration for underwriters at our York Underwriting Department.
Duties and responsibilities will include :
The provision of a first class customer service
Compliance with all regulatory and internal systems controls
Implementing the prevailing group underwriting philosophy
Dealing with written and verbal enquiries from the agency network
The recording and reporting of appropriate workflow data
Processing new policies and amendments to existing policies
Preparing and distributing retained renewals
To £16,000 Contributory Pension Scheme, Flexi-time working based around 35 hours standard working week, Monday - Friday Holidays negotiable on experience.
To be considered for this role you must have previous experience gained within a technical role at an insurance company or broker. A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent at grade C including; Maths and English is also essential.
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate:
A commitment to the importance of good customer care.
Computer literacy
An ability to work in a team environment
First class written and verbal communication skills
Initiative
Enthusiasm and drive
The ability to meet challenging deadlines and department quality and service standards
