Job Description
The job entails the maintenance and integrity of the recording of budgets, forecasts, transactions and financial reports for all Group companies, developing accounting protocols to ensure that reporting timetables are met, delivering financial reports to first line users within the Finance Team, effective management of a fit for purpose' financial accounting function, maintaining all accounting records to meet the requirement to produce accurate profit & loss, cash flow and balance sheet reports for all companies, delivering financial and budgetary reports to timetable, leading continuous improvement to the quality of financial information and relevant business processes, ensuring that all group companies meet obligations for the making of statutory returns and payments and maintaining an effective cash management and treasury function.
The role will also involve overseeing the management of staff engaged in the area of Financial Accounting including recruitment, inductions, carrying out constructive appraisals, including identifying and meeting training and development needs and dealing constructively with issues of poor performance.

39 hour week with some flexible working patterns.

The successful candidate will be a part or qualified Accountant or equivalent with proven financial accounting skills gained in a medium to large organisation including end of year financial company accounts, VAT, audit requirements and statutory accounts.
You will ideally have proven staff management experience, exposure to Health & Safety and employment legislation, the ability to manage complex projects as well as make strategic and operational decisions using robust financial policies and procedures and supporting the Head of Finance in the development of financial policy and systems.
You will have the ability to produce and / or analyse complex written and numerical management reports, apply logic and think clearly when solving a range of diverse and complex problems, communicate effectively and persuasively both in writing and verbally at all levels, produce and manipulate complex financial spreadsheets and data and be confident in the use of financial software.
