Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an individual to develop a brand new role as an Operations Team Leader, working within the Supply and Experts Team, for a major insurer, based in Bristol.

Job Profile
Within the Motor Claims handling service, the job holder will deliver a total loss valuation agreement solution for Policyholders and claimants. The team will research, investigate, negotiate and agree the total loss valuation element of a motor claim. Linking with internal members of staff, suppliers and customers, the team’s purpose is to progress claims to drive further efficiency into this process. The successful applicant will be accountable for the efficient running of a claims team, ensure a high standard of customer service in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, provide leadership, guidance and training to team members, work closely with local claims management and/or Head Office, to ensure the delivery of this new process ensuring successful claims cost containment aligned to customer satisfaction. Will support the Claims Management Team, participating in the production of annual business plans and budgets, implement Performance Target Reviews, Personal Development Plans and Salary Distribution Schemes for reporting staff, liaise with external and internal customers as well as manage customer complaints.

Applicant Requirements
Previous motor industry retail and trade car sales knowledge is essential and a basic level of Motor Insurance knowledge is preferred. Evidence of people management, coaching and motivational skills is essential as well as previous supervisory experience and face to face / telephone customer contact experience. Applicants should demonstrate target delivery in a high volume sales environment and be PC literate with knowledge of Excel and Word. It is desirable to be educated to A Level standard or equivalent including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents). The ideal applicant will be a dynamic, confident individual, possessing strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example. Will possess statistical analysis skills, be self motivated and achievement orientated, with the confidence and ability to influence others.
