Job Description
My client is currently seeking Financial Lines Underwriter to Underwrite and negotiate small to medium size financial lines risks (renewal and new).
Job Description
- Assist Senior Underwriter/AVP in development of profitable, quality business through a selection of brokers/agents
- Make informed underwriting decisions within the authority delegated
- Liaising with brokers and establishing strong relationships
- Management of budgets
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of financial lines issues
- Providing reports to senior management
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Proven UK financial lines experience at broker or underwriter level (D+O or Management Liability experience) - although we do not underwrite Professional Indemnity a good understanding of this would also be of benefit
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and with a high level of responsibility
- Team Player
- Self motivation to grow existing book of business
- Knowledge of management liability: directors and officers, employment practice, pension trustee, crime, and ideally financial institution and PI risks
- ACII Qualification (or equivalent) desirable
- A-Levels (or equivalent) preferable
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
