Job Description
Job Purpose:
As an Assistant Accountant you will be working as a part of team of three reporting to the Financial Controller. The key responsibility will be to support management in ensuring accurate and timely production of all financial reports and to monitor and follow up on the application of internal controls and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for a wide array of tasks within the Finance Department. Such tasks include, but are not limited to;
· To assist the Financial Controller in the preparation and analysis of monthly management reporting, budgets and annual statutory accounts.
· To prepare and/or review monthly journals entries including accruals and prepayments.
· To carry out monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation's and analysis to underpin the accuracy of the financial reports.
· To maintain the Fixed asset register.
· To prepare the VAT return
· To prepare supplier payments
· To assist the Financial Controller with ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and with maintaining the internal control (SOX) environment.
· To support Management with ad-hoc analysis and reports when required.
· To participate in annual stock checks

Qualifications
The Assistant Accountant plays a key role in the monthly management accounts function. Candidates will be required to have broad accounts experience and be studying towards an accountancy qualification. · ACCA/CIMA/AAT/ACA part qualified or equivalent with aspirations to progress to full qualification.
