Job Profile
A vacancy has arisen within this well respected independent brokerage for an Insurance Risk Manager/Surveyor/Health & Safety Engineer in the Leeds area. The role will involve carrying out a risk management service and leading a corporate risk management strategy on behalf of the company. This will involve co-ordination with local management, key clients, insurers and other service providers. Playing a major role in the renewal and negotiation of the insurance programme. Formulating recommendations and loss prevention programmes using presentations, written reports and insurance meetings. Identifying and analysing areas of exposure, undertaking risk assessment surveys where required. Raising the awareness and publicising the risk management ethos throughout the organisation, which can involve training. Will be responsible for budgets which are agreed at board level. Surveying a variety of risks in respect of new business, renewal and post losses within a designated area. Providing comprehensive reports and plans on an agreed format, providing accurate risk information to enable underwriters to assess and evaluate the risk correctly. Outlining recommendations for risk improvements/requirements and discussing these with the client to ensure these are implemented accordingly. Working closely with underwriters to ensure the correct rating of the risk is achieved. Maintaining up to date knowledge of the company's underwriting philosophy and products, together with technical matters.

Applicant Requirements
Applications will be welcomed from experienced Risk Managers who are preferably NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent), have a proactive approach and have experience of the insurance industry. It is essential candidates have a varied exposure to risk and health and safety issues.
