Job Description

To facilitate strategic growth plans for 2008 a global food organisation with head office based in Birmingham are recruiting a Finance Manager with broad responsibility. As a key member of the management team you will have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the UK operations whilst interacting at group level. As number one in Finance for the UK business you will work closely with senior management while reporting to the local Divisional MD and the European Group Accountant based in Germany. Responsibilities include: developing and implementing financial controls and management information to meet business objectives; contributing to all levels of business management and jointly developing appropriate strategies and business plans; understanding and challenging the business from all functional perspectives include costs; challenging and interrogating all financially significant transactions and business decisions to ensure management and financial controls are adequate; ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records, reporting, forecasting and planning; identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase profitability. The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), with experience of working in the manufacturing sector, ideally food, while the ability to communicate with non-finance personnel is equally advantageous
