Job Description
The Forensic Recovery Team provides a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified ACA or ACCA to work in this exciting area with a good deal of variety and opportunities for progression.
The team within a big four accountancy firm combines specialist forensic investigation and business skills, with insolvency expertise to investigate insolvency situations where fraud or other wrongdoing is suspected.
The team works closely with HMRC, and other law enforcement agencies such as the Asset Recovery Agency, as well as banks and other financiers.
The team has successfully recovered assets on a number of high-profile cases, where illegitimate gains have been made.
The role undertaken by the successful applicant will vary on a case by case basis, but will generally involve the following:
- recovery of documentation;
- research;
- analysis;
- assessment of data and documentation;
- drafting of witness statements;
- liaison with key stakeholders
- business development
The successful applicant, not only will be a recently qualified accountant, but will also ideally have the following attributes:
- have a flexible attitude to work and at times be willing to work on overseas projects;
- have first time passes in ACA/ACCA and have at least a 2:1 degree;
- Ideally be CPI qualified, but with a minimum of 2 years insolvency experience across all forms of insolvency;
- Proactive with an enquiring mind;
- Good analytical skills;
- Good team worker;
