Job Opportunity: Payroll Manager, Southampton, Hampshire
Leading commercial business seek a hands on payroll manage.
The purpose of the role is to drive change to improve the Payroll function - continually review processes, identifying opportunities for strengthening control and improving efficiency, influence stakeholders and implement change.
Duties
- Manage Payroll Team and balance workload across the department, ensuring all payrolls are completed on time and all payments made to third parties.
- Manage business impact of all systems changes, prioritise change requests and ensure appropriate testing is performed.
- Ensure Payroll service provision is high quality and efficiently managed
- Drive change to processes and Payroll management by continually reviewing current processes and procedures to identify opportunities to strengthen control and improve efficiency influence key stakeholders to agree and implement changes.
- Responsibility for high performance of Payroll team including general people management, coaching, training, appraising and recruitment of staff.
- Active role in the Operational Finance management team by leading the Operational Finance department - including driving and implementing changes to improve the department's performance and service level and ensuring the department has the best possible resource by being responsible for succession planning, effective resourcing, employee engagement and development of individuals and teams.
- Ensure all payroll processing is completed, issues resolved, reconciliations performed and exceptions managed
- Ensure that all payroll files BACS / Payslips / SHARESAVE / Pensions / HSA etc are processed in a timely and accurate and controlled manner.
- Manage workload across the team, developing knowledge add flexibility within team members to enable greater cross-working and support.
- Liaise with HR Team for Development of Policy, Procedures and systems.
