Job Description

The Reading Team is one of the leading M&A operations in the Thames Valley.  The team is a leading independent financial adviser predominantly to corporates, but also financial institutions including banks and private equity houses. Services offered by the team include advice on mergers, acquisitions and disposals, fund raising, MBOs, MBIs VIMBOs, IBOs, structuring and refinancing.
This role will be working within the Corporate Finance team in Reading. The Reading team has a very strong position in Private Equity transactions and local mid-market deals, with particular reference to Technology transactions.
This role is to project manage and be a senior team member working on relevant deal/transactions, ensuring these are carried out to a high quality level, reporting to either Partner or Director. This role offers the potential for significant development and promotion for strong performers.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Initiate and develop business contacts with private equity houses banks, and corporate targets
- Project managing individual transactions
- Negotiating along side clients on transactions
- Enhancing and developing Sector knowledge
- Producing and analysing financial models and business plans
- Assisting on pitching for new work, including the preparation and presentation of documentation
- Liaising with team and ensure they are fully briefed
- Delegating work to team members
- Supervising junior members of the team
- Reporting to clients and Partners on transaction progress
- Building and maintaining good relationships with clients
- Liaising with clients on any issues that arise
- Identifying problem areas suggesting solutions/seeking advice for solutions
