Experienced Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator (AAT)
London N1 (Hackney)
£20,000 - £22,000 DOE plus Bonus, Study Assistance, Childcare Voucher Scheme, 25 Days’ Holiday

Do you have an AAT qualification or working towards this qualification and have experience in an accountancy role? If so, this could be the role to continue to develop your skills!

Our client is a fast-growing medical technology company, listed on AIM and based in Hoxton, London N1 - just 20 minutes walk from Islington and the City, with several bus routes close by. The company currently seeks to add to its 40 staff, and is now looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator to work in their friendly and relaxed Hackney office.

The main function of the Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator is to undertake primary accountancy duties and to provide assistance to the Accounts Manager and the Finance Director. The company will assist the successful candidate with study for accounting qualifications and advancement opportunities exist within this growing company. The role offers you ample opportunity to progress your career, and initially your specific duties will require you to:

- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
- Assist with annual and interim audit, and preparation of annual report and interim results
- Maintain all cashbooks
- Prepare and complete cheque and BACS runs
- Raise and process purchase orders, process and post all purchase invoices and staff expenses
- Credit control of UK customer base
- Maintain fixed asset ledger and running depreciation calculations
- Prepare stock reports and reconciliations
- Assist with VAT and other tax returns

To succeed within the role, the Accounts Assistant / Accounts Administrator will require commercial experience in a similar role, and will need to have completed, or be in the process of completing, the first year of AAT or a similar qualification. You must also be able to demonstrate a consistent work history.

You’ll also be highly numerate, with the ability to work independently and maintain a quick pace of work with a flexible attitude and good verbal communications skills. Other essential attributes are:

- Experience in working in an office based environment
- Demonstrable competence in Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level
- Experience of processing purchase and sales invoices and using accounting systems such as Dynamics GP
