Job Description
To ensure the integrity of all financial systems/information within area of responsibility in accordance with recognised accounting principles and group policies.
Fully accountable for the management of a department / group of departments, e.g.:
Lead, motivate, supervise and where appropriate, train a team of managers and support staff within area of responsibility.
Personnel management: eg staff selection, development, deployment, performance review, absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Business management: development of departmental/divisional budget(s), accountability for achieving budget(s),accurate and timely provision of all management information required.
Resource management: maintenance requests, selection and ordering of goods / equipment.
Business planning and development for the department(s)/divisions and input into business planning, improvement and development.
Ensure all audits / reviews of the department(s)/divisions and its performance are undertaken and action is taken to address any issues raised.
Skills
Accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACMA, ACA, CIPFA), or experience to an equivalent level
5 years broad range of experience across the finance disciplines, including significant experience at a senior level
2 years people management experience, preferably including training in HR issues
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of IT literacy
