Job Description
Our client is looking for a candidate to source and introduce suitable high-quality new business through development of relationships with clients and/or intermediaries and other professional contacts; to promote products and services to clients, intermediaries and other third parties; to achieve sales targets set annually for growth of new business as detailed in the annual sales plan; and to maximise income from the existing client base by cross-selling the company's products and services.
Duties and responsibilities:
~ Establish and nurture contacts with solicitors, accountants, IFAs and other professional intermediaries
~ Plan, co-ordinate and undertake effective promotional visits to clients and intermediaries to develop new business
~ Undertake presentations of seminars to intermediaries and prospective clients
~ Identify new business opportunities where the company's products are an appropriate solution to the clients' needs
~ Contribute to the design and delivery of new services in response to client needs
~ Ensure that appropriate tax and legal advice is sought for new business introduced to the company
~ Liaise with the Trust department to ensure that the company can deliver the services required and agree appropriate fees
~ Act in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures
~ Liaise with other departments where appropriate and ensure that the knowledge base of the company's activities and services is developed and maintained
~ Share relevant technical knowledge as necessary to maintain continued organisational and market awareness
~ Maintain a database of industry contacts, market analysis and research to support business development
~ Any other ad hoc tasks or projects as requested by the line manager
Skills and knowledge:
~ Good interpersonal and communication skills with all levels, including prospective introducers, HNW clients and professional contacts
~ Ability to maintain and develop existing relationships with clients, their advisors and other professional contacts
~ The ability and confidence to make effective presentations to individuals or groups
~ Confidence to present seminars to achieve sales of products and services
~ Sound knowledge of the company's products and the ability to recognise opportunities to cross-sell services
~ Awareness of taxation issues in the UK and other relevant jurisdictions and an understanding of tax planning
~ An understanding of the minimum due diligence requirements to establish relationships with clients
~ An understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, money laundering regulations, suspicious and fraudulent transactions and the reporting of such
~ A good understanding of trust law and how a trust is established, administered and dissolved
~ Awareness of external factors that influence the industry
~ Good IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Qualifications and experience:
~ A relevant professional qualification, i.e. STEP, combined with a minimum of ten years' relevant experience, ideally in a trust-related environment
~ High level of professional knowledge and ability
~ Self-motivation and self-sufficiency in order to work independently
~ Proven track record in successful business development
