Job Description

The NPIA, National Policing Improvement Agency, works for the police service and directly supports forces to deliver improvements today, and into the future. We're a single national support agency led by the police, for the police, created through the work of the ACPO, APA and the Home Office. The NPIA provides leadership and expertise to the police service in areas as diverse as information and intelligence sharing, core police processes, managing change and recruiting, developing and deploying people.

 

This role is all about ensuring that the necessary financial control is in place, that value for money is achieved and that the right advice is delivered to the Directorate management team. Working at an operational level, you will be supporting the development and management of budgets and forecasts and ensuring that they comply with corporate policies and procedures. You will also take responsibility for monitoring budget performance and handle issues/queries as they arise.

 

CIMA or ACCA qualified and willing to undertake further study, you will have a proven financial management background. This will be combined with strong customer and business focus, excellent analytical skills and the ability to present your findings clearly and concisely. Experience of supporting large-scale IT projects, within the private or public sectors and of SAP financial accounting systems will be an advantage.
