Job Description
A thirteen partner strong independent accountancy firm in Guildford have an opportunity for a Trusts Accountant to come on board.
1.Preparation of trust returns which will involve:
·Writing to the trustees and third parties for information to complete returns
·Checking information received, comparing with previous year and ensuring complete
·Preparation of income and expenditure accounts for letting income
·Computing chargeable gains
·Entering the information on computer and printing returns and schedules
·Sending return to trustees to sign and advising tax payments required
·Advising on payments to be made to beneficiaries
·Submitting return to Inland Revenue
·Checking Inland Revenue tax statements
2.Trust accounts:
·Preparing accounts from information provided by trustees and third parties
·Maintaining underlying books and records required to produce accounts
A lot of the role will involve reviewing trust accounts prepared by junior staff.
Candidates will need to have a strong background in trusts and experience with charities is desirable.
