Job Description

Ambitious Trainee Accountant wanted by this forward thinking firm of accountants in Leeds.
This is a fabulous opportunity for an ambitious trainee accountant to further their career in an up and coming practice. Although established in the Leeds area for some time, the firm have adapted well to the challenges of modern accounting, and are keen to continue to develop the practice by employing the highest quality staff and by utilising the very latest in IT software.  Working from smart modern offices within easy reach of the city centre and local amenities, the firm have experience considerable growth both in the size and value of their client base over the last few years.  Clients are spread throughout West Yorkshire, and tend to be SME's and owner managed businesses.

Based in the audit department, you will work as a trainee, under the supervision of an experienced manager.  Your role will offer fantastic variety, and will see you based both in the office and out at clients. On the audit side, you will be involved at every stage, assisting in the planning, execution and finalising of the audit. On the accounts side you will prepare accounts predominantly for limited companies, in addition to preparing basic corporate tax returns, and management accounts.  Occasionally you will assist in special ad hoc projects, and you will be given the opportunity to assist in the tax department.

Although a trainee position, all candidates must have some practice experience and ideally you will already have started studying towards the AAT qualification. You must be ambitious and keen to undertake further study once you have completed the AAT.  This is the ideal training role for those candidates that have already started to work in accountancy, but are finding that their role lacks the variety and depth of work that they require. You will be given every opportunity to succeed, and as this is a firm that firmly believes in promoting from within you will have fantastic long term career progression.

My client is looking to attract the highest calibre of employees, and is willing to offer a very attractive package for the successful candidate. In addition to a generous salary and study package, the firm are willing to offer a pension and health care scheme which many larger firms do not offer.
