Job Description

Accounts Payable department within large company are looking for an A/P clerk to work within their team.

Ensure invoices are accurate, properly coded and accurately entered onto the system and are properly authorised before payments are made to suppliers.
Perform payment runs for the suppliers highlighted for payment.
Prepare payment runs for authorisation with supporting documentation.
Ensure that cheque and payment runs are performed on a regular basis and that suppliers are paid on time.
Deal with queries from managers and suppliers promptly and efficiently.
Perform reconciliations from the accounts payable ledger to supplier statements on a monthly basis and follow-up discrepancies.
Maintain the accounts payable filing system and ensure all invoices are filed correctly on a regular basis and archived when necessary.
Provide analysis of suppliers for month-end reporting.
Provide management report/accounts payable information when required.
Be proactive in improving the processes and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.
Provide support to the Concur staff expenses super-user in dealing with staff queries and uploading data into Oracle.
Provide departmental cover as deemed appropriate by the AP Team Leader or Financial Accountant.
Assist as required in finance projects, which are undertaken from time-to-time.
Undertake any other ad-hoc duties when requested in accordance with the business requirements.
To ensure compliance with SOX requirements you need to ensure ongoing compliance with the following objectives:
-an understanding of the relevant process(es).
-awareness of responsibilities for control within the process(es).
-confirmation that controls are operating.
-exceptions to controls are raised with your line manager.
-ensuring that the testing process can identify any issues.
-undertaking agreed remediation to correct any weakness.
