Job Description

Purpose of the Role.....
To proactively grow the VAT practice and provide a specialist and comprehensive VAT advisory service to all business clients to minimise their VAT liabilities and compliance issues, and to identify tax planning opportunities. Assume a leading role in the development of the VAT team to grow the business through marketing events, and assisting with the expansion of the VAT client base.

Key Responsibilities...

- Undertake sales & marketing activities to win VAT assignments from clients and targets, including attending and leading seminars where relevant.
- Provide advice and support on compliance and planning issues to clients, regularly maintaining contact and making visits as appropriate.
- Liaise directly with clients, referrers and intermediaries regarding compliance work, carrying out reviews on-site where relevant.
- Continually research new products and service and ensure knowledge is kept up-to-date with VAT legislation and procedures.
- Financial management including billing within given timescales and according to the firm's procedures.
- Responsible for preparing and agreeing budgets with partners and clients and ensuring these are met and within agreed timescales.
- Line management responsibility for one team member at Assistant Manager level.
- Conduct appraisals and ensure general development.
- Adhere to the firm's risk management policies.
- To be aware if the wide range of the firm's services and to identify opportunities to sell those services to clients.
- To be involved in office marketing events when appropriate.
To attend training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills and keep records for CPD purposes.
