Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is one of the largest asset manager in Ireland. Their assets under management have doubled in size over the past five years. Their ultimate parent company is the number one provider of life and pension products in Europe, as well as a market leader in non-life insurance.
 
The Team
You will be a senior member of the Investment Managers Operations team comprising of 10 members reporting to the Finance Director.
 
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial accountant seeking career progression towards Financial Controller level. This key financial role involves responsibility for the preparation of management accounts, statutory accounts and regulatory returns, all to tight deadlines. Funds managed have expanded significantly in the past few years so the role also involves working closely with the Finance Director and the IT manager to improve and streamline the reporting process for existing funds and prepare for future growth. The role offers a genuine opportunity for career progression for the right candidate in a growing and dynamic company.
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Preparation of periodic management and statutory accounts to tight deadlines. 
• Preparation of regulatory returns to tight deadlines. 
• Provision of management information and analysis as required as part of Investors 
• Support management in preparation of budgets and projections. 
• Develop and streamline the reporting process in conjunction with the Finance Director and IT Manager. 
• Working closely with our various contacts throughout the Investor Group, including the Finance Team based in the UK, and their clients to develop and improve management information. 
• Liaising with internal and external auditors.

Role Requirements:

• At least 6-8 years experience in a Financial Accountant role. 
• Technical Knowledge of above business with Business/Market Awareness 
• Ability to prioritise a wide range of external and internal deadlines 
• Understanding of the wider business and commercial issues 
• Excellent IT Skills 
• Ability to build strong relationships at senior levels in the organisation 
• Excellent attention to detail and an eagerness for quality 
• Excellent Planning and Organisational skills 
• Fund accounting experience, whilst not essential, would be an advantage.
